Poll results

Labor Day, Sept. 2, is almost here. On some mornings, there's a noticeable crispness in the air. And Sunday River Resort in Newry has been upgrading its ski lifts for the past month.

Can the summer of 2019 really be coming to an end?

Summertime is a busy time for many Maine businesses. It's peak tourism season, and in June Mainebiz asked readers what their expectations were for that industry over the coming weeks. (The answers were encouraging; 44% of respondents said "better than average.") But as a look at recent headlines in Mainebiz will show you, companies of all types have found themselves working hard during the months when many people vacation in Vacationland.

Which prompts us to ask: With summer almost gone, how's it gone? Please also feel free to comment and explain.
