Poll results

A new poll finds that only one in 10 Mainers like Gov. Janet Mills’ slogan for the state, “Welcome home.” Soon after taking office, she had the phrase displayed on highway signs along the Maine-New Hampshire border.

“Critical Insights on Maine,” a semiannual tracking poll, tested a half dozen slogans used over the years to promote the state. The slogans, several of which were backed by previous governors, are shown below in alphabetical order. Do you have a favorite?

Why are we spending time and money on this? Shame on the incoming governors that spend our money so frivolously. Unless of course they paid for the signs and the labor out of their own pockets, in which case put up whatever you want as long as it's positive.
