EdGE is one of the state’s largest afterschool programs. In the coming year, the Mission will expand and adjust EdGE afterschool and summer camps programs in response to expressed school partner and community need. The Mission’s 63-acre Downeast Campus is home to education, food security, housing, family support and community programs. Over the next 12 months, the Mission will continue to invest in our Downeast Campus, programs and staff in alignment with need and community input. In 2022-2023, through programs operated from our ice-breaking ship, Sunbeam, the Maine Seacoast Mission will continue to help meet the unique health care and community building needs for the populated outer islands of Maine.
Sunbeam Award Gala – Taking place each August in Bar Harbor, our signature fundraising event honors organizations and individuals making a positive impact in our communities. Past recipients include artist and author Ashley Bryan, Downeast school partners and U.S. Sen. George J. Mitchell.
President’s Scholarship Celebration – Occurring in the spring, this inspiring event recognizes students in our scholarship programs and honors those who advocate for and support educational opportunities for young adults.
EdGE Tennis Tournament – Each September, a day of competitive matches raises funds for our Ed Greaves Education (EdGE) youth development program, which serves Downeast Maine.
The Mission Fund – Gifts and grants provide operating or project support for Mission programs.
The Hope Society – Create a legacy through a planned gift such as a bequest.
Corporate Sponsorship – Sponsor one or all of our signature fundraising events to best fit your organization’s goals.
Mount Desert Island – Historical archives, events and Christmas program.
Downeast – Housing rehabilitation summer volunteers, mentorship of high school students in the Journey program, Christmas program and Food Security program opportunities such as food deliveries to seniors, assistance in the Mission’s food pantry and community meal preparation.
