A 24-year veteran of Eastern Maine Health System was promoted to president of Acadia Hospital.
Scott Oxley, who had served as vice president and chief operating officer, will also serve as senior vice president for EMHS, CEO M. Michelle Hood announced Monday.
Acadia Hospital, a member organization of EMHS, is a fully accredited and licensed nonprofit psychiatric hospital. He takes over from Dan Coffey, who will retire Sept. 30.
Prior to joining EMHS in 1993, Oxley worked for the accounting firms Ernst & Young and KPMG Peat Marwick.
“During his tenure with us, Scott has led many organizational optimization projects at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Affiliated Healthcare, and Acadia Hospital to ensure, as a system, we continue to best meet the needs of our patients,” Hood said in a press release. “His inspiring leadership qualities and extensive experience and expertise in business, finance and patient care administration, positions him well to successfully lead Acadia Hospital into the future.”
