Anthem drops Dirigo contract
The Dirigo Health Agency said this morning that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will end its three-year contract to administer DirigoChoice at the end of 2007.
Anthem and the Dirigo Health Agency were unable to agree on acceptable financial terms to extend the contract for one year, according to a joint statement. The Dirigo Health Agency has plans to transition the health insurance program by Jan. 1, 2008, though there was no word on what group would administer the 15,000-member program.
