Team AR, the Brunswick-based software and app developer behind an augmented reality app that projects publicly available property boundaries into a smart phone camera view, won the $120,000 Microsoft BizSpark in-kind services prize at the annual Top Gun pitch-off.
Six participants from the Bangor, Rockport and Portland Top Gun classes, representing the first and second place finishers from their respective regional pitch-off events, competed for a $10,000 cash prize sponsored by the Maine Technology Institute.
Nadir Yildirim and Simin Khosravani of the Orono-based Revolution Research won the $10,000 cash prize. Their company uses the latest technology to develop eco-friendly products for the construction and packaging industries made from locally supplied and bio-based materials.
Top Gun is an annual program for competitively selected entrepreneurs that combines mentoring with high-impact weekly gatherings held in in the three cities. Beginning with a dozen entrepreneurs in Portland in 2009, Top Gun has now helped 135 entrepreneurs across the state accelerate their businesses.
