Summer nights at Strong Brewing Co. in Sedgwick are about to be a lot more festive.
The Sedgwick Board of Selectmen issued a special amusement license that will allow the brewery to host live music, an additional draw to a business that already hosts local chefs.
The Ellsworth American spoke to Strong Brewing’s owners, Al and Mia Strong, about plans for the rest of the summer, starting Aug. 25 with a live performance by national Americana act Suitcase Junket.
Another large attraction this summer at the brewery is the addition of local chefs serving up food on Friday nights. Mia Kanazawa of the Deer Isle-based Mia’s Springrolls and Sesame Noodles will serve visitors of Strong Brewing her fare, the American reports.
Other culinary offerings slated at the brewery include the The Blazin’ Nation Food Truck, which cooks up wood-fired barbeque, and Millbrook Co., a locally-centric eatery that will be serving oysters and charcuterie.
“It was more about giving locals and the tourists another option on a Friday night,” Mia Strong told the American. “It’s really casual.”
