Belfast grocer a ‘total loss’ after fire

A Belfast grocery store that came under new ownership in April is considered a total loss by those owners after a fire damaged the building’s interior on Tuesday.

Goose River Grocery owners Kyle and Helen Skinner told the Bangor Daily News that they will rebuild after considering the building a “total loss.” The Swan Lake Avenue building is insured.

“I want to rebuild it. The store’s been here a long time, and people like it,” Kyle Skinner told the newspaper. “It’s kind of a hub for the locals.”

No one was injured in the fire, whose cause is under investigation.
