Bath Iron Works has appointed Eric Masna as vice president of supply chain and quality.
Masna will build and maintain supplier partnerships to acquire the high-quality materials and services needed for BIW's naval shipbuilding. He will also lead the quality assurance, control initiatives and oversight.
“This is a great opportunity to work for a company with such a storied history in providing for our nation’s defense,” Masna said. “I look forward to working with my supply chain and quality team to help BIW excel in fulfilling its important mission.”
Masna has three decades of operational and supply chain experience. Previously, he served as vice president of the supply chain for Fuel Cell Energy, a global leader in fuel cell technology, where he managed planning, material, warehouse and supply chain for many energy construction projects.
Prior to that, Masna spent 10 years at Triumph Aerospace, where he served as vice president of supply chain, overseeing delivery, quality and cost management for 22 sites and 2,300 suppliers.
“We are pleased to welcome someone with Eric’s depth of experience and expertise to our vital supply chain and quality efforts,” said Charles Krugh, BIW president. “Sourcing high-quality components and meeting our exhaustive standards are critical to making Bath Built, Best Built.”
Masna earned his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He completed the Darden Executive Leadership Program through the University of Virginia.
