Camden National Bank has appointed Matthew Witten as senior vice president, director of information security. He brings over two decades of experience to the position.
Witten will be responsible for maintaining the bank’s security while staying ahead of potential threats. He will manage significant risk areas, including information and cybersecurity, third-party vendor management, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
“Matt has a proven track record of protecting customer data and strengthening cybersecurity programs for large companies,” said David Ackley, executive vice president and chief risk officer at Camden National.
“We are excited to welcome him to the Risk Management Team and to lean into his expertise to continue to enhance our data privacy and cyber security programs.”
Witten will also monitor and report on the results of the program’s components, chairing the computer security incident response team. He will serve on the audit, bank disclosures, board technology, and audit committees.
Prior to joining Camden National, Witten was the chief information security officer for Martin’s Point Health Care for more than eight years. Before moving to Maine, he worked at numerous organizations in the Louisville, Kentucky, region, including the Louisville Metro Government and the University of Louisville.
Witten received the “People Who Made a Difference in Security in 2018” award from the SANS Institute, a cooperative for information security thought leadership.
The Raymond resident is actively involved in the community, including serving as a board member for Goodwill Northern New England.
Witten received his bachelor’s degree from Bellarmine University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
