County app-maker sues N.Y. man

A Caribou-based app maker, whose game has hit over 5 million downloads in Apple's App Store, is suing a New York man for taking a web address that uses the game's trademarked name.

The Bangor Daily News reported that Christopher York, owner of the home-based business Blue Ox Technologies, alleges that a New York man registered a website at the domain 7littleworlds.com one month after York's game, titled 7 Little Worlds, was featured in Apple's App Store.

In the lawsuit, York accuses Richard L. Young, of New York, N.Y., of trademark infringement, unfair competition and cybersquatting, among other crimes.

The lawsuit seeks monetary damages in an amount to be determined at a jury trial, the paper reported.
