CUSO Home Lending, a licensed mortgage company owned by credit unions and the Maine Credit Union League, has hired a new mortgage lending officer.
Billie Cook brings over nine years of experience, having worked at Residential Mortgage Services, HarborOne Mortgage and, most recently, American Neighborhood Acceptance Mortgage Co.
She steps into a role held by Linda Walker, who retired in July.
Cook graduated from the University of Southern Maine, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
Having used Maine Housing’s first-time buyer program when she bought her first home in 2008, Cook advocates for CUSO’s customer-focused approach and is passionate about educating clients. She believes the lending process is just one of many steps in the home ownership process, for which being prepared is essential.
“Total transparency is key with clients. Knowing exactly what will be needed from them enables them to plan, which helps their dream of purchasing a home, whether it’s their first home, second home, or dream home, become a reality,” Cook said.
In her free time, Cook is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing at Sunday River or Sugarloaf.
“We’re so pleased to welcome Billie to the CUSO Home Lending Team,” said Lori Michaud, interim president and CEO of CUSO Home Lending. “Her passion for helping people achieve their dream of owning a home only strengthens our dedication to delivering the very best service and experience for both our clients and credit union partners.”
CUSO Home Lending was founded in 1993, it is a licensed mortgage company owned by credit unions and the Maine Credit Union League; its Maine office is in Hampden.
