Club Champion, a custom golf club fitter, has opened a store in Maine — just in time for golf season.
The fitting studio occupies a 3,400-square-foot space at 100 Larrabee Road in Westbrook. The store opened Monday, May 13.
It's the first Maine location. The closest regional location is in Portsmouth, N.H.
“Westbrook is the first stop in Maine on our quest to give golfers the best possible custom golf clubs in the industry,” said Nick Sherburne, founder of Club Champion. “Our goal is always finding the best combination of components to help customers lower their scores and better enjoy the game.”
The Illinois-based chain has more than 125 locations, including studios in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Club Champion says it's a one-stop destination for customized golf clubs, from various brands including Callaway, TaylorMade, PING, Titleist, Cobra, Fujikura, Golf Pride and others.
The new studio is equipped with three indoor hitting bays with launch monitors that provide performance analysis, a putt analysis and training system for precision putting, and a build shop for hand-repairing and assembling golf clubs.
The Westbrook branch is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
