The president of the Hampden-based food service distributor Dennis Paper & Food Service said that a 30,000-square-foot warehouse expansion will allow the company to hire up to 75 new employees over the next five years.
The 108-year-old Dennis Paper & Food Service distributes food and disposable paper products to companies in Maine and New Hampshire.
“We’re excited to expand our capacity,” Ron Dennis, president of the company, said in a prepared statement. “Our new warehouse will mean more inventory to meet the growing demands of our diverse customers. Plus, we’ll — again — add new members to our team.”
The 30,000-square-foot expansion will include new frozen, refrigerated and dry-product storage in addition to extra office space and a new test kitchen.
The warehouse expansion is just the latest development from the company, which has created over 120 jobs since 2002 and completed a 20,000-square-foot expansion in Hampden in 2012.
“As with our 2012 expansion, our new warehouse will feature environmentally-friendly features, like energy-efficient lighting and product-handling equipment,” Rick Robertson, COO, said in a statement.
