Doug Hall to teach at UMaine

Professional inventor, entrepreneur and reality television star Doug Hall will add a new qualification to his resume this fall: University of Maine professor.

Hall, a 1981 UMaine graduate and founder and CEO of Eureka! Ranch, an innovation think tank in Cincinnati that assists small businesses, will teach two courses -- "The Beginning of an Idea" and "Making Your Idea Real" -- through the university's Foster Student Innovation Center, the school's department of university relations told Mainebiz.

Since Hall's years as a "master marketing inventor" at Procter & Gamble, Hall has helped companies including Nike, American Express and Coca-Cola to develop new products. A judge on ABC's "American Inventor" reality show, Hall started his first business in Portland, selling packaged magic tricks, at age 12.
