EMDC former head to reprise role

Eastern Maine Development Corp. has chosen Michael Aube, the organization's former leader, as its new president and CEO.

Aube, who served as leader of EMDC from 1981 to 1992, will start the job again on Jan. 5, according to the Bangor Daily News. Aube served as the state director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Maine Rural Development Agency for the past eight years. He was appointed by President Bush and will leave that position when President-elect Obama's administration takes office.

EMDC's former head, Charles Webb, stepped down in June to pursue other interests, according to the paper. Victoria Burpee, the executive vice president of the organization, has been acting as its leader since then.
