EMHS names new general counsel
Brewer-based Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems has named a new general counsel.
EMHS president and CEO Michelle Hood appointed Glenn Martin, chief internal audit and compliance officer, as new general counsel, replacing former vice president Leonard Giambalvo, who retired earlier this month after 24 years with EMHS, according to a press release. Martin took the position as general counsel effective July 12. "Glenn has demonstrated the talent and leadership needed to successfully take over the reins of general legal services while retaining oversight of compliance and internal audit," Hood said in the release.
Martin is a former assistant U.S. attorney who earned a B.A. in English from Bates College and his juris doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, he was in private practice with Hale and Dorr of Boston.
