FairPoint names Maine operations president
FairPoint Communications has tapped a 40-year veteran of the telecommunications industry as the company's Maine state president.
Michael Reed will be responsible for handling regulatory matters, government relations and economic development for the North Carolina-based company's Maine operations, according to a press release from FairPoint. Most recently, Reed served as state government affairs manager for service provider TDS Communications, which does business in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York and Pennsylvania. Reed will relocate from Vermont to Maine.
FairPoint spokesman Jeff Nevins told the Maine Public Broadcasting Network the company "[has] realized we need to continue to build lasting relationships here in Maine." FairPoint has also appointed presidents for New Hampshire and Vermont.
