Feds go after Palesky

The federal government last Friday filed suit against jailed tax activist Carol Palesky, according to the Associated Press.

The Department of Justice claims Palesky, the accountant who led an unsuccessful tax cap referendum in 2004, inflated deductions and credits for clients of her Topsham accounting business, East Accounting Services, the AP said.

Palesky is currently serving a 16-month sentence in Windham's Maine Correctional Facility for embezzling funds from one of her former business clients.
