A Cape Elizabeth publishing entrepreneur has launched a new media company that intends to publish a national food and service industry trade magazine in January 2014.
The Bangor Daily News reported Scott Allmendinger has launched the Ideal Media Group, which intends to launch Food + Service as its first publication. The magazine is geared toward a broad spectrum of food and service industry sectors. Allmendinger said the publication will span a gap between commercial and institutional food service publications.
The paper reported that the magazine aims to have 90,000 subscribers by the end of 2014 and will publish six editions a year.
Allmendinger would not disclose his startup costs but said that he plans to hire locally and has brought on Kathy Hayden of Falmouth as the magazine’s first editor-in-chief. He said two other media executives, Brian Reshefsky of Chicago, and Andrew Schofield of London, are financial partners in the company and will likely take operational roles.
