Former ME lawmaker named SBA advocate

Lynn Bromley, a former legislator and chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Business, Research and Economic Development, has been named the Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy's New England regional advocate.

Bromley will help connect small business owners, trade and business associations as well as local and state government with federal decision makers, according to a press release from the SBA. Prior to her appointment, Bromley was principal of Maine consulting practice Audax Group, and from January 2000 to December 2008, she served as a state senator for District 7, which includes South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and part of Scarborough. She has also served as co-chair of the Maine Economic Growth Council.

SBA's regional advocates help identify small businesses' regulatory concerns and monitor the impact of federal and state policies, according to the Office of Advocacy's website.
