The Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce and Husson University are partnering to make it easier for workers in the Upper St. John Valley to earn an MBA.
Employees of the chamber and of its member organizations now can receive a 10% tuition discount on Husson coursework toward a master’s degree in business administration.
Husson said in a news release that the discount applies to all of the university’s MBA programs, including its general program and those with concentrations in biotechnology and innovation, data analytics, health care management, hospitality management, organizational management and risk management.
“Husson University is proud to work with the chamber to provide their members with access to an affordable business education that can help increase economic growth and prosperity in Aroostook County,” said Jennifer Flynn, director of Husson’s Northern Maine Campus in Presque Isle.
Chamber President Darnell Oliver commented: “The high-quality education offered by Husson University can help local area business leaders and employees improve their processes, products and profits. Successful businesses enhance the economic strength of our region.”
Husson operates the state’s largest college of business, according to the release, with over 1,400 students. The Bangor-based university has offered tuition discounts to other groups, including members of the Maine National Guard and employees of L.L. Bean Inc.
The Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce promotes the business environment of northern Maine communities including Allagash, Cross Lake, Eagle Lake, Fort Kent, Frenchville, New Canada, Portage Lake, St. Agatha, St. Francis, St. John, Sinclair, Wallagrass and Winterville.
