Frazell will lead a comprehensive fundraising program in support of science, education, and stewardship for parks, people and the planet.

She has over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining the institute, Frazell was the executive director of development at Husson University.

Under her guidance, Husson saw significant growth in annual giving due to her ability to manage high-performing teams, drive strategic initiatives, and foster donor engagement.

“I’m humbled to join Schoodic Institute and contribute to its vital conservation work,” said Frazell. “I look forward to raising awareness and resources to create a vibrant future for Acadia and the next generation of conservation champions.

“I was drawn to the mission of the Institute, and I’ve been impressed with their scientific impact locally, regionally and nationally. I am excited to help further that goal,” she added.

She has also held other leadership positions at the Alzheimers Association and the Bangor Public Library.

Frazell received her bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of Maine and her master’s degree in business and marketing from the University of Phoenix.

The Schoodic Institute, which is based in Winter Harbor, supports scientific research that is important to national parks, provides professional development for teachers and helps train a new generation of conservation stewards. As partners in science and education, Schoodic Institute and Acadia National Park manage the largest of 17 National Park Service Research Learning Centers in the United States.

In 2023, the Schoodic Institute reported contributions of $1.8 million and total income of $3.9 million, which included program fees of $954,755, according to the nonprofit's annual Impact Report.
