Franklin Savings Bank, which operates eight branches in Maine, has hired Michell McMahon as a mortgage loan officer.
Based in Skowhegan, McMahon brings more than 20 years of banking experience at other local financial institutions. She works to help homebuyers navigate the mortgage process.
In her role, she will examine, evaluate, and authorize or recommend the approval of customer applications for residential loans. She will replace Stacy DeMerchant, who was promoted to assistant vice president and mortgage underwriting officer.
“Franklin Savings Bank has a long history of supporting local homeowners and providing tailored financial solutions,” said McMahon. “I look forward to being part of a team that values relationships and is deeply invested in the success of its customers.”
McMahon received consumer and mortgage training from the Center for Financial Training and her master mortgage underwriter certification from the National Association of Mortgage Underwriters.
"Her dedication to her clients and her deep understanding of the mortgage process will be a tremendous asset to our customers in Skowhegan and the surrounding areas," said Lorna Niedner, director of residential and consumer lending at Franklin Savings. "Michell’s approach to customer care mirrors our commitment to providing personalized and exceptional service.”
Franklin Savings, based in Farmington, serves Maine’s western, central and Downeast regions from offices in Ellsworth, Farmington, Jay, Mt. Blue High School, Rangeley, Rumford, Skowhegan and Wilton. The bank was founded in 1868 and today employs more than 130 people.
