Hartt celebrates opening of $5.3M Auburn facility

Bangor-based Hartt Transportation opened the doors of its new $5.3 million truck terminal in Auburn on Friday, signaling the company’s business growth in the area.

The Sun Journal reported that the new facility, which is the first tenant in the company-owned Kitty Hawk Business Park, has 260 employees and is expected to add more than $25 million a year to the local economy, according to Hartt CFO Joanna Bradeen.

The newspaper said Hartt’s Auburn location accounted for 16% of corporate revenue when it had only one local customer there in 2001. But, the newspaper added, corporate revenue from Hartt’s Auburn location has since grown to 42%.
