Heating oil prices steady as temperatures dip

Home heating oil prices have remained steady as the winter heating season approaches.

The Associated Press reported the latest survey of heating oil prices from the Governor’s Energy Office put the statewide average price at $3.54 per gallon, which is the same as last week and a penny higher than two weeks ago. The price is nearly 20 cents lower than one year ago, according to the GEO.

The survey showed, as usual, that the highest prices were in the northern parts of the state while the lowest were in the western and southwestern parts of the state.
