Home sales keep ahead of past year
Single-family homes sales for January continued to rise, keeping in line with steady year-over-year growth in recent months.
The Associated Press reported that sales rose 21% from January 2012 to the same month this year.
That breaks down to 664 homes sold this January, compared to 547 in January of last year.
The median price also rose this January, climbing 3% from the previous year.
Bart Stevens, president of the Maine Association of Realtors, said the latest numbers signal a shift from a buyer's market to a more balanced market.
