After six years, Side By Each Brewing Co. in Auburn announced it would close the beer taps for good.
In a social media post on Thursday, owners of Side By Each, located at 1110 Minot Ave. in Auburn, said its last day open to the public will be Dec. 31.
Opened in 2019, Side By Each describes itself as a "craft brewery, specialty roaster and brewpub under one roof." The business was founded by Ben Low and Matt Johannes.
“We want to express our deepest appreciation to the amazing staff here, past and present, who have dealt with the ups and downs of a small business in trying times more gracefully than we could have asked," the owners said in the social media post.
“And to our customers, whether occasional or regular, whether you’ve been coming in since 2019 or made your first visit last week, we also extend our heartfelt thanks. Community engagement has always been at the top of our list of core values, and just as much as we’ve tried actively to practice this, your support and encouragement have made it a reality.”
In the post, the owners said they hope a buyer will come along to continue the legacy. They are asking those interested in acquiring the business to contact them.
For the next two weeks, the brewery plans to continue regular hours and scheduled events will go on as planned.
