The former business partner of a Lewiston developer currently under investigation for fraud is suing him for allegedly mismanaging their rental properties and pocketing thousands of dollars.
Vincent Lobozzo of Lewiston in November filed a lawsuit in Cumberland County Superior Court against Travis Soule of Lewiston claiming his former partner diverted income from jointly owned apartment buildings to Soule and his wife's accounts, kept rent payments and overpaid himself for managing the properties, according to the Sun Journal. The pair were partners in several corporations that owned dozens of apartment buildings in Lewiston and Auburn. The lawsuit claims Soule's actions cost Lobozzo over $1 million. Soule has filed a counterclaim, saying Lobozzo refused to give Soule money to manage rising business expenses and that he kept profits from the properties he managed.
Soule is currently under investigation by the Inspector General's Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Lewiston Police Department for possible fraud and misuse of federal money, according to the Sun Journal.
