JAX focuses on image
The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor recently created a new position to craft the lab's image.
Barry Teater, currently the director of corporate communications for North Carolina Biotechnology Center, will become Jackson Lab's first director of communications on Dec. 31, according to the Bangor Daily News. Michael Hyde, vice president for advancement and external relations at JAX, said the post will help the lab "do a better job of getting our message out to friends and supporters," the paper reported.
Since 1990, the laboratory's operating revenue has grown by eight times and the number of employees at the lab has more than doubled.
