Journal Tribune announces free Sunday paper
The York County daily newspaper, the Journal Tribune, announced it will begin publishing a free Sunday edition distributed to homes throughout York County.
Publisher Jim Freeland announced the change in a letter to readers, saying that the first Sunday edition will be sent to readers in Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard and at distribution points in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Sanford and Scarborough starting June 16.
Freeland wrote the Sunday edition will contain articles from community members in addition to articles written by staff journalists.
The paper is owned by the Pennsylvania-based Sample News Group, which owns six southern Maine weeklies and The Times Record, based in Brunswick.
