Kennebunk Savings has appointed Steven Hughes, a U.S. Navy veteran, as chief technology officer.
Hughes has a 20-year background in information technology.
In his new role, he will oversee and direct the management of the company’s daily IT operations and provide strategic direction for developing processes and systems within the information systems environment. He will also manage network policies and procedures for protecting information stored on the bank’s network.
Prior to joining the bank, he was director of IT for Vigilant Wealth Management in Portland, responsible for all information technology processes and support and was the lead information technology security resource.
"Through his work history, Steven has gained valuable expertise that will complement the work we're doing at the bank," said Adam Mumm, senior vice president and chief information officer. "He brings a wealth of knowledge in all IT-related areas, particularly data privacy and protection, security controls, and data center management. We're excited to have him on the team."
Hughes received his master’s of business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Kennebunk Savings, which is headquartered in Kennebunk, operates 13 branches in York County and five in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire. It has assets of $1.82 billion.
Kennebunk Savings is No. 10 among the largest Maine-based banks, based on assets as of June 30, 2022, according to the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
