Kittery's Good To-Go announces headquarters expansion

A Kittery-based food manufacturer whose dehydrated gourmet meals can be found on shelves across the country announced that it has begun breaking ground on a 1,600-square-foot expansion in the York County town after a recent round of investment.

Founded in 2014, Good To-Go specializes in dehydrated foods with a mission focusing on using all natural ingredients with no preservatives or additives. Currently the company produces four meals: Thai Curry, Herbed Mushroom Risotto, Smoked Three Bean Chili and Classic Marinara with Penne.

The Kittery expansion will allow the company to increase production capabilities, introduce new products and create several new jobs. Product sales increased 600% from 2014 to 2015 and another 400% increase has been predicted for the company in 2016.

Co-owners Chef Jennifer Scism, a former New York City restaurateur and Iron Chef, and David Koorits, who has worn many hats, including careers as a wilderness therapy counselor and ski patroller, have themselves been taken aback by Good To-Go’s rapid growth.

“We started sales in April of 2014 and by April of 2015 I had to ask our sales reps to stop soliciting new retailers,” Koorits said in a prepared statement. “The response has been fantastic and slightly stressful. We are as eager as our customers to increase production and add new meals.”
