KVCC president again plans to retire

Kennebec Valley Community College President Barbara Woodlee has again announced her retirement, more than two years after she first said she would step down.

Woodlee, 65, in January 2010 said she would leave her post at the Fairfield college on July 30 of that year, but two national searches did not produce a candidate for a new president, so she decided to remain. She told the Kennebec Journal she now feels it's the right time to step down because the college has completed the acquisition of 702 acres of the Good Will-Hinckley campus, where it plans to expand.

Woodlee now plans to retire at the end of this year, though she will continue to be a part-time academic officer for the Maine Community College System. A search for a new president will begin immediately, according to the paper.
