Landry/French Construction has hired a Biddeford native as its new chief operating officer.
Denis Garriepy has 22 years of experience in commercial construction and has worked with Boston-area construction management firms. In the role of the chief operating officer, he will be responsible for the company’s operational leadership.
“Bringing people back to Maine has always been a goal of ours as a company, and I’m extremely pleased that Denis is returning to his roots, said Kevin French, chairman and CEO of Landry/French. "Denis brings a wealth of leadership and operational experience and will be instrumental in the company’s continued growth.”
Garriepy joins Landry/French from Suffolk Construction in Boston, where he spent nearly a decade, most recently as vice president of operations.
At Suffolk, he oversaw large-scale education, health care and life sciences projects, including Northeastern University’s $330 million EXP facility, which is a new 350,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art research center and significant capital works for Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Medical Center.
Garriepy has a master of science in construction management from Northeastern University’s graduate school of engineering and a bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Michigan.
Scarborough-based Landry/French ranked No. 5 among the largest Maine-based construction companies, according to the recent Mainebiz Book of Lists, ranked by revenues. The firm had 2021 revenue of $109.3 million and 60 employees.
Two Landry/French projects underway now in Portland will total more than $100 million in construction costs.
