LePage to deliver State of the State

Gov. Paul LePage is scheduled to deliver his second State of the State speech tonight at 7 p.m.

The speech will be the governor's second address to Democratic legislative leaders and his first to the entire Legislature.

As of Tuesday morning, LePage had not released details of his speech to the public, according to The Associated Press, leaving only speculation about the topics and legislative goals he will address tonight.

In recent weeks, the key issues for the governor have included a plan to pay back the state's MaineCare debt to hospitals, remove a cap on the number of charter schools that may open in the next 10 years and reduce energy costs.

On Monday, LePage met for the first time with Democratic leaders after a months-long standoff over political "trackers" the Democratic Party hires to film the governor at public events.
