A website called #GrabYourWallet has added L.L.Bean to a list of 75 retailers to boycott because of their alleged support of Donald Trump.
The Sun Journal reported on an Associated Press report stating that the listing was prompted by L.L.Bean board member Linda Bean's donations to help Trump get elected.
L.L.Bean told the Associated Press it “does not endorse political candidates, nor do we take positions on political matters or make political contributions.” It also noted that Bean is one of many family members who share ownership.
Other companies included in #GrabYourWallet’s boycott list include Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hudson Bay, Macy’s, TJ Maxx and Walmart.
Customers responded with tweets that they wouldn’t shop at the listed companies.
Maine Public reported that Linda Bean is alleged to have exceeded individual contribution limits to a pro-Donald Trump political action committee Making America Great Again LLC. The committee is under scrutiny by the Federal Elections Commission.
