Look out, Saco: Here comes Jersey Mike's Subs

Jersey Mike's Subs, at 507 Main St. in Saco, will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
It’s finally time: Two years since the announcement that Jersey Mike’s Subs would open its doors at 507 Main St. in Saco, today is opening day.
The Saco location is in the neighboring space next to Chipotle, which opened in March. The space had once been home to Pizza Hut.
Jersey Mike’s Subs, with more than 2,500 locations nationwide, serves authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled subs on in-store freshly baked bread — the same recipe since it started in 1956.
There are now nine Jersey Mike's stores in Maine: in Auburn, Augusta, Bangor, Brunswick, Portland, Saco, Scarborough, Topsham and Windham, according to the company's website.
In Saco, franchise owner Chris Brown will celebrate with a day of giving to benefit the Saco Food Pantry. Brown plans to donate 100% of its opening day sales proceeds to the charity.
"At Jersey Mike's, we have a saying: ‘Help nourish. Help flourish. Be a sub above,’" said Brown. “It is in the spirit of that maxim that we partnered with Saco Food Bank as our grand opening charitable recipient for our new location in Saco."
"The pressure of inflation on food prices has created acute conditions of food scarcity amid an already challenging economic environment," Brown added. "The need for local businesses to provide community support is greater than ever; that's why we've decided to donate 100% of opening-day sales to Saco Food Bank. We can't thank the people of Saco enough for their warm welcome and hopefully together we can raise a substantial sum for a truly worthy and local cause."
The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Restaurant-goers can place orders in-store or for pickup through the website or through the Jersey Mike’s app. Additionally, delivery is available in most areas through the Jersey Mike’s app or through third-party delivery partners. Curbside pickup is available for orders placed in Jersey Mike’s app.
