Machias Savings Bank has appointed Ben Jordan as chief operating officer and hired Julie Cote as senior vice president, cash management relationship manager.
Jordan has spent nearly three decades in the banking industry, navigating technological advancements, streamlining operations and helping to implement digital banking solutions, a news release said.
Jordan’s expertise will be critical as the bank transitions to the Jack Henry technology platform, a system that serves community and regional financial institutions.
“Ben has extensive knowledge of the Jack Henry ecosystem that will be invaluable as Machias Savings Bank moves toward modernizing, operating more efficiently into the future, and evolving to meet the needs of our customers as technology continues to advance,” said Larry Barker, president and CEO of Machias Savings Bank.
Prior to joining Machias, Jordan was chief information officer at Synergent. During his time there he supported diverse financial institutions, managed vendor ecosystem integrations and worked on corporate infrastructure investments.
The Windham resident received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Bryan University and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. He is a board member of the Maine Technology Institute, where he contributes to infrastructure advancements throughout the state.
Cote spent the last two decades at Bangor Savings Bank, where she most recently served as vice president, senior corporate services officer.
The Hampden resident has nearly 25 years of banking experience, focused on building customer relationship and delivering service.
During the beginning of her banking career, she worked with municipalities, nonprofits and government agencies on long-term policy and investment goals.
Cote received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Husson University.
Machias Savings was ranked No. 5 among Maine-based banks in the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on assets as of June 30, 2022. Machias Savings has $2.3 billion in assets, 300 employees and 15 branches from Portland to Caribou.
