Machias Savings Bank's $100,000 "YES!" grant program is open for community voting. The grant is designed to support nonprofits and charitable organizations across the state.
During the course of the year, the "YES!" grant will provide $100,000 to organizations that refuse to take "no" as an answer in helping others succeed.
Every three months, the bank will award five $5,000 grants to nonprofits in a designated area.
“We look forward to being able to continue to provide support during the second half of the year and to seeing the excitement around this next round of nominees,” said Melissa Denbow, vice president and community experience manager at Machias Savings.
Individuals from around Maine can vote for their favorite nonprofits in southern Maine from now until Sept. 16. After the voting period has ended, the top-voted organizations will go to Machias Savings Bank’s giving committee for the final decision.
The nominated organizations can be found here. Participants can vote for their favorite nonprofit once during a 24-hour period
Machias Savings Bank, founded in 1869, has over 300 employees and $2.3 billion in assets, and 15 branches from Portland to Caribou. It is the sixth-largest Maine-based bank, according to the 2022 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
