Maine Angels makes top 10 investor list
The Maine Angels, a 51-member venture capital investment group, has joined groups from New York and California's Silicon Valley on a national list of the country's 10 most active investment groups.
The 2012 Halo Report from the Angel Resource Institute and Silicon Valley Bank puts the Maine group 10th in the list ranked by the number of deals completed in the last year.
The Bangor Daily News reported the group invested just shy of $3.4 million in 21 separate deals last year, breaking the group's previous record.
The report was based on 783 deals totaling $1.1 billion invested across the country.
