Paul McKee, a licensed real estate agent with two decades of experience, has taken over as president of the Maine Association of Realtors.
McKee is a Realtor and lead buyer specialist at the Hatcher Group with Keller Williams Realty in Portland.
He assumes leadership at a time when Maine is grappling with limited "for sale" inventory and historically high home prices.
He takes over a role last held by Carmen McPhail, an associate broker at United Country Real Estate in the Bangor and Lincoln Lakes region.
McKee served as the trade group's president elect and first vice president and is on the board of the Maine Real Estate Information System Inc., also known as Maine Listings. He is also a director and member of the Major Investor Council for the National Association of Realtors.
The Maine Association of Realtors represents 6,400 Realtors and 450 affiliated professionals, including lenders, closing agents, title agents, appraisers, building inspectors and surveyors.
In 2022, Maine’s real estate industry accounted for $15.7 billion, or 18.6%, of Maine’s gross state product.
The Maine Association of Realtors was founded in 1936.
