Bangor-based engineering firm Haley Ward Inc. continues to grow with its recent purchase of Florida-based EDC Inc.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
EDC, established in 2003, provides civil engineering, surveying, planning, and environmental consulting for public and private projects in the regions of Port St. Lucie and Melbourne, Fla.
The acquisition will expand Haley Ward's presence in Florida, where the firm already has offices in Fort Myers, Stuart and Port St. Lucie.
“This strategic partnership aligns with our vision of expanding our expertise and capabilities while providing new opportunities to our employees,” said Denis St. Peter, president and CEO of Haley Ward.
“We are excited to work with all four partners and the employees of EDC as part of a combined company moving forward. EDC's strong reputation and comprehensive service offerings enhances our ability to serve clients in Florida and beyond."
During the transition, the firm will be known to its clients as EDC, a Division of Haley Ward. The EDC offices, partners and 56 employees will remain on board.
"Joining forces with Haley Ward is a fantastic opportunity for our employees and clients," said Roderick Kennedy, president and founder of EDC. "Our shared values and commitment to excellence make this an ideal fit. We look forward to leveraging Haley Ward's resources and expertise to further our mission and expand our impact."
