Fifteen organizations have received a total of $902,910 from the Maine Health Access Foundation in an effort to help Mainers enroll on the federal health insurance exchange.
The foundation announced the grant on Tuesday, ahead of the Affordable Care Act’s Feb. 15 deadline for health insurance enrollment in 2015.
“Since the [ACA] became law in 2010, [the foundation] has supported a broad array of strategies from grassroots, door-to-door outreach to statewide marketing to educate and inform Maine people about the changes brought on by Obamacare,” Dr. Wendy Wolf, president and CEO of the Maine Health Access Foundation, said in a prepared statement.
“Our support for education, outreach and enrollment assistance clearly aligns with MeHAF’s mission to promote access to quality health care, especially for uninsured and underserved people in Maine,” she continued.
