Waypoint Brokers Collective, a Portland-based real estate agency, has hired a Realtor who is back in the game after building a career with clients on seven continents in pursuit of an opportunity in international development.
Windham native Katie Hatch is the founder of Leeward Consulting, an IT consulting company that works with businesses, startups and nonprofits in East Africa, Asia, Australia and the U.S. and beyond. Her work focused on organizational and strategic planning, scaling and process improvement, and marketing and product launch.
"It was incredibly impactful living and working abroad," said Hatch. "Throughout all of my work, I found it was the people that made it the most rewarding. Being able to be integrated into the local community made me see the work through a different lens which I, otherwise, might not have had access to. These experiences, and connection to community, are a driving factor for me getting into real estate. Knowing that I can assist people and families land in a home and community is beyond rewarding. "
During the hiatus, Hatch kept up with southern Maine's real estate industry through rental properties, she said in a prepared release, and by observing market trends.
After more than a decade of constant travel, Hatch decided it was time to return to Maine and return to her roots in the real estate industry, where she began in the family business Steve Farrar Associates as well as Masiello Group in 2006.
"I am dedicated to helping clients buy or sell single-family homes, condos and multi-units," said Hatch. "I use my deep connections and lifelong knowledge of the ever-changing real estate landscape to benefit each client relationship and every real estate transaction."
Hatch works to protect the Maine coast and the future of Maine's working waterfronts by volunteering on the Maine Coast Heritage Trust leadership council.
She received her master's degree from the University of Bristol in Bristol, England, and a bachelor's degree from Saint Michael's College in Vermont.
Waypoint Brokers is located at 85 Exchange St. Hatch is one of a dozen staff members that include founding partners and associate agents. Learn more about the agency here.
