Maine Community Foundation, a statewide nonprofit based in Ellsworth, will feature a range of entrepreneurs at its Summit next month.
The nonprofit is putting a greater emphasis on entrepreneurs as a way to drive economic development in the state's rural areas, CEO Steve Rowe told Mainebiz.
Presenters at the Summit will include: Martha Bentley, manager of small business and entrepreneurship for the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development; Kathy Chamberlain of Stone Fox Farm Creamery; Sascha Deri, CEO of BluShift Aerospace; Sarah Guerette, director of the Women's Business Center at CEI; Justin Hafner, CEO of KinoTek; Cyndi Prince of LooHoo LLC and Briana Warner, CEO of Atlantic Sea Farms, among others. The event will be Nov. 13, from 3-7:30 p.m., at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online.
Maine Community Foundation, founded in 1983, focuses on five main goals: a strong start for Maine children, access to education; racial equity, "thriving older people" and innovation and entrepreneurship.
