The Maine Real Estate & Development Association has named Drew Sigfridson, a principal and designated broker at CBRE |The Boulos Co., as its new president. Sigfridson succeeds banker Thomas Lea to head the statewide organization.
Sigfridson has worked at Portland-based CBRE|The Boulos Co. since 1998 and was recently promoted to principal, according to a press release from MEREDA. He has previously served as president of the Maine Commercial Association of Realtors, and is currently the vice chairman of the board of directors for Avesta Housing and a board member of the New England Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
A member of the MEREDA board since 2003, Sigfridson said his focus will be improving the environment for responsible real estate development and legislative initiatives related to the development process.
Sigfridson replaces Lea, senior vice president and group manager of commercial real estate at People's United Bank, who was named MEREDA president in July 2010.
