Keiser Industries, a major modular home manufacturer in Oxford, has been bought by a national real estate firm.
Milford, N.H.-based R.J. Finlay & Co. announced the purchase yesterday, and the purchase price was not disclosed, according to the a press release from the company. The company attributed its interest in Keiser to its "significant market share of residential modular building in Maine and throughout the region," as well as its sustainable building practices, Chairman and CEO Robert Finlay said in the release.
Keiser Homes President David Cuttler told the Sun Journal the deal "gives us a much bigger depth of financial stability and allows us to enter new markets," including industrial and commercial. The sale will not affect the more than 100 workers at Keiser, and R.J. Finlay has no plans to relocate or expand Keiser's 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, the company's communications director, David Lazar, told the paper.
R.J. Finlay owns a number of construction and real estate businesses in the United States, and earlier this year bought the bankrupt Morin Brick, a brick manufacturer in Auburn with 55 workers, according to the release.
