More federal money on its way

Maine is receiving another $7.6 million in federal stimulus funds that will go to increasing access to child care and vaccine compliance.

The majority of the money -- about $6.7 million -- is slated to go to child care programs, with half a million going to Maine's federally recognized American Indian tribes, according to the Bangor Daily News. About $914,000 will go to Maine's immunization program to pay for vaccines and educational outreach for vaccinations for adults and children.
