Mount Abram ski area sold

A pair of investors have acquired Mount Abram ski area in Greenwood.

Matt Hancock of Casco and Rob Lally of Boston bought Mount Abram's 600 acres and its buildings and operations last Friday from Josh and Susan Burns of Falmouth, according to the Portland Press Herald. The purchase price was not disclosed, but the Burnses had listed the property in January for $1.8 million and did make a profit on the sale, the paper reported.

Hancock, a former principal at Hancock Lumber and Hancock Land, and Lally, a real estate developer, told the paper they plan to expand Mount Abram's ski school, improve its lodges and build more residences on the property.
